10 Hours of Walking in Paris as a Jew

It’s incredibly sad but true… France has been in the headlines for a large number of horrifying occurrences of violent antisemitism over the past year. But France has shown overt antisemitism since the Dreyfus case and the publication of “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion,” of Vichy. Make no mistake, Jews are not yet fleeing France. Despite all of the appalling headlines, murders, beatings, fire-bombings, threats, harassment, the desecration of cemeteries, France has the third largest Jewish community in the world after Israel and the United States. That is not to say that they’re not thinking about it. Last year over 6000 French Jews made Aliya to Israel. In a recent poll, 74% of France’s Jews said that they have considered leaving the country. What must be emphasized is that at the root of many of these antisemitic activities is radical Islam. And radical Islam is on the rise in all European countries.
Natan Sharansky, the head of the Jewish Agency, and he himself a prisoner of Zion in Soviet Russia for many years, mentioned at an interview that,”If France and the other Western nations will not fight quickly and strongly for reestablishing the civilization of liberal nations, Europe is in danger. The exodus of Jews, as many times in the past, is the first harbinger, a warning of where it goes.” Let’s hope they listen.
