Some 200 Palestinian Arabs rioted and threw rocks at passing vehicles near the village of Huwara in Samaria on Thursday.
This is the third time this week that hundreds of Arabs blocked the main road going through a village leading to Israeli communities in Judea and Samaria, and stoned the Israeli cars passing through.
A number of vehicles were stoned early Thursday afternoon but they managed to escape, having sustained heavy damages. One motorist, however, found himself in mortal danger after his vehicle had been attacked with cinder blocks with his front windshield smashed, and opened fire at the rioters in self-defense. One of the stone throwers was killed and another was moderately injured.
