Have you ever wondered why the Arab refugees from the British Mandate of Palestine is the ONLY refugee population that grows year by year? If you think about it, it is an impossibility, because a refugee is one who lost his or her home, or as according to UNHCR, the other United Nations agency that services refugees from all over the world:
A refugee is someone who has been forced to flee his or her country because of persecution, war, or violence. A refugee has a well-founded fear of persecution for reasons of race, religion, nationality, political opinion or membership in a particular social group.
As you can see, for refugees from all over the world, only those who actually lose their home are considered refugees. So why is the definition for refugees different only for one population of refugees, the Arabs from the conflict with Israel?
Which leads us to the second question that people should be asking? Why is there a need for the UN to have two different refugee organizations? One for refugees from all over the world, UNHCR, and one only for the Arab refugees from the conflict with Israel, UNRWA?
Putting that second question aside, today there are only around 20,000 Arab refugees from the conflict with Israel still alive, yet according to UNRWA there are more than 5 million refugees.
So why should you care? Because the USA and European countries are taking tax-payer money to give hundreds of millions of dollars each year in aid to UNRWA for 5 million “refugees”, while there are really only 20,000!
As one can clearly see, this is one of the biggest financial scams of the century, that the international community has gone along with for 70 years, totalling billions and billions of dollars that could have been used differently, for actual people in need.
This move of the Middle East Forum is brilliant, highlighting the absurdity of the refugee situation. They want the world to finally understand that the modern “palestinian refugee” is one of the most preposterous ideas ever cooked up.
Besides all that, it is important to understand the context of why these refugees became refugees in the first place.
Let’s get the facts straight
In 1948, six Arab countries launched wars on Israel to destroy the recently declared State of Israel and “throw the Jews into the sea”. Arab leaders told the local Arabs to leave, in order to clear the army for the incoming Arab armies. As a result many Arabs voluntarily left their homes, planning to return after and reap the spoils of battle. After the Arabs lost the war, they then claimed to be refugees. While Israel accepted around 850,000 Jews expelled from Arab countries, and made them citizens, most of the Arab countries who took in the Palestine Arab refugees did not allow them to become citizens, instead they have kept them in refugee camps for 70 years and treat them as second class citizens. Furthermore, many of them did end up in other countries around the world, received citizenship, and raised children and grandchildren in their new countries, including the USA, Canada, South America and European countries. Yet even though they are citizens of other countries, those descendants are still considered “refugees”.
This scandal, and insanity, has to stop!
