More than 20 people have been injured in southern Germany, after a man with an axe went on the rampage on a train. In an official statement, local police said that four people are in very serious condition.
The incident happened on the night of July 18 in Würzburg-Heidingsfeld, around 70 miles north-east of Nuremberg. The identity of the attacker has not been made public. Unconfirmed reports that it was a 17 year old Afghan teen who came to Germany as a refugee.
Witnesses said that the attacker fled the scene after going on the rampage. Police have launched an operation to apprehend the man, who fled the Würzburg-Heidingsfeld, train after his rampage. There are unconfirmed reports that the attacker was shot by cops.
