The Clarion Project believes that there is a Muslim force that is planning a small army inside of the United States.
This is serious stuff.
Ryan Mauro from the Clarion Fund believes that these groups ought to be treated as a foreign terrorist organization.
Of course, that is a controversial opinion.
How does he know they exist
Multiple confidential sources inside of a powerful jihadist group within the United States are serving as informants.
They told the Christian Action Network and the Clarion Project that members have been told to arm themselves. Why? They anticipate raids by the Trump Administration.
The Pakistan-based spiritual leader of Muslims of America (MOA), Sheikh Gilani, told top MOA officials (known as “khalifas”) to order all unarmed members to obtain firearms, licenses and hunting permits. They may actually prepare to resist raids on the group’s approximately 22 compounds. The armed groups clearly expect some sort of clamping down under the Trump Administration.
One of the confidential sources told Martin Mawyer of the Christian Action Network and Ryan Mauro of the Clarion Fund that they expect the FBI “to reopen its cases against them as a homegrown terrorist organization.”
Finding homegrown terrorists
Homegrown terrorism is one of the worst nightmares for law enforcement authorities. First off, groups emerge almost anywhere – without any advance warning. Secondly, citizens who can travel freely, are very hard to track.
A vigilant eye on social media and communications are probably the main weapons necessary. That enables us to to figure out how to separate the armed from the armed and dangerous.
This is not easy nor cheap.
But homegrown terrorism will exact a greater price if we don’t take the steps necessary to reign in the threat.
