Israeli Airstrike on Iraqi Nuclear Reactor 1981

Israel’s bold attack in 1981 did not just secure Israel against a madman bent on destroying Israel.

It also enabled the Western World just 10 years later to attack Saddam Hussein so successfully in Operation Desert Storm.

Israel’s decision to not allow any country in the Middle East to threaten it’s existence with nuclear power continues to this day.

However, at that time, Israel was maligned by the UN and most of the leaders in the United States.

From a historical perspective, it’s rather clear that Israel’s bold move was a critical move for enabling Israel’s safety for many decades from Saddam Hussein.
