A rocket was launched from Gaza and fell in the town of Sderot near the Gaza Strip border on Wednesday morning, just before 10:30 AM.
The rocket fell near a school. Thank G-d nobody was injured. An MDA spokesperson reported that a number of residents in the neighborhood struck by the rocket have been evacuated and are being treated for shock.
Some damage to property was reported.
In retaliation, The IDF fired artillery shells at targets in Beit Hanoun, in the northern Gaza Strip.
Sderot is on Israel’s southwest border with the Gaza Strip and is located just a few miles away from the staging ground of Israel’s recent battles with Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Many of the staging grounds for the attacks on Israel were formerly Jewish settlements that Israel removed in order to improve prospects of peace in the region.
