Innovation Africa is exactly that – an innovative project of good-will that brings solar and drip technology to impoverished African populations to allow them to effectively use their most valuable natural resources – sun and water. Founded by Sivan Borowich Ya’ari of Rishon L’Tzion Israel, and helped along by Israeli engineers and professionals such as electrical engineer, Meir Yaakobi, Innovation Africa has simple, ingenious ideas of how to improve the quality of life for over 700,000 Africans living in impoverished and often impossible conditions. By bringing drip irrigation and solar energy into African villages, IA has brought easy access to clean water, the ability to produce larger crops to provide food and livelihood for villagers, and electricity for refrigeration, lighting for schools, hospitals, clinics and orphanages. It has saved and improved so many lives.
The common denominator in this video is the Jewish concept of “tikun olam” (Lit. “fixing the world”), the obligation to make the world a better place, to make things better for others. The Israeli professionals of Innovation Africa have been devoting themselves to doing just that.
