The newest technology straight from the Technion in Israel. A highly sensitized artificial nose that will help us identify cancer early on. What an incredible gift to the world!!
The Nano-nose is an incredible device invented by professor Hossam Haick, a Christian Arab chemical engineer from Nazareth who received his B.Sc. from the Ben Gurion University in Beer Sheva and his PhD in the direct track at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. Haick, hailing from an academic family had not wanted to study medicine. He finds a doctor’s work “static”. He prefers research, where, as he explains, it produces new technology to treat patients.
Haick has won over 40 awards, serves as a professor at the Russell Berrie Nanotechnology Institute of the Technion, and works together with Jewish-Israeli, Arab-Israeli, and Cristian-Israeli professors and students. He finds that the Technion is a special and supportive place for people of all ethnicities, races and cultures who excel in science.
If only all Middle East relations could be modeled on the kind of working relationships that thrive at the Technion.
