The law of inertia is definitely in full force here. This horse running full force on a road in the Galilee just cannot stop, and, so, the dramatic outcome.
How many times do we find ourselves in situations where we just can’t stop? I find that, at times, someone presents a point of view that I don’t really agree with. So, of course, I begin to argue and present the opposite postion. Very quickly, we each get locked into our own postion and would be able to think over any points that our opponent is presenting. We are too busy defending our own point of veiw.
Consider a debate in which one or both of the sides says “That’s an interesting point. I have to think about that and get back to you.” Try it. It calms the winds and leaves both sides with a willingness to really hear the other person. The competition is lessened. People are more focused on communication. That is what harmony is all about. Harmony in one’s home. With one’s spouse, children, parents, friends. You need a lot of strength of will to do it… But if you don’t, you may trample a car or two like the horses in the movie.
