How To End A Fight In Seconds- IDF Style!

Krav Maga is a story of survival that traces its way back to Bratislava of the 1930’s. A young athlete, Imi Lichtenfield, developed a reality based self defense combat technique which would later become known as “Krav Maga” (lit. “hand to hand combat”). Imi and other Jewish professional boxers and wrestlers used this technique to defend the Jewish community against antisemitic thugs and gangs who became prevalent in Europe in the 1930’s. In 1940, Lichtnefield fled the Nazis and made his way to Palestine. He finally arrived in Palestine in 1942 where he perfected and taught “Krav Maga” to the Hagana and the Palmach, and later in the Israeli army for almost 30 years. After retirement, he created the Krav Maga association and adapted the combat for the Israeli police force and civilians.
The journey that Imi and Krav Maga made through different countries and situations, from Nazi occupied Europe to Palestine, which was on the verge of becoming a new Jewish State, is legendary. Historic. The great lesson of Imi’s story is his perseverence and devotion to the defense of the Jewish People in every country and every situation in which he found himself.
Today Krav Maga is taught all over the world and is considered one of the best “street” self-defense systems in the world. Just remember how it all started… That’s the real lesson in self-defense.
