Israeli Airforce Pilot Killed in Crash After Airstrike on Gaza

Yesterday, Israeli pilot, Ohad Cohen Nov, who was flying his F-16I jet fighter after conducting an air strike on the Gaza Strip, was killed during a crash landing at Ramon Air Force Base in the Negev.

Thankfully, the aircraft’s navigator ejected successfully from the jet before it crash-landed and only sustained light injuries.

The following amazing story is being reported about the pilot, even though it hasn’t received much media attention:
The pilot was told to eject and he could have saved his own life, but the aircraft would have crashed into houses nearby. Major Cohn then commanded his navigator to eject and without even a glass cockpit covering him he fought to land that aircraft without any hydraulics available … With pure strength he glided his F16l fighter pilot to the runway rather than eject himself and let the aircraft crash into family homes nearby. Major Cohn is a true hero in every sense of the word and a precious Jewish Soul who gave up his life so others may live. May his memory be for a blessing.
