The Wedding Video That Will Make You Love Being Jewish (or Wish You Were)

Welcome to a truly traditional Jewish Lubavitch wedding ceremony. No doubt about it. There is more to this wedding than just the obvious love of the bride and groom for each other. This integrates the extended family and the entire Jewish nation. The songs, the blessings, the ceremony and postwedding dancing and rejoicing all attest to that. The background song at the beginning “Mi Ben Siach” relates to a rabbinic interpretation in King Solomon’s Song of Songs “As a rose among the thorns, so is my beloved,” which explains that the two lovers are allegorical to God and His beloved People of Israel.
The ceremony involves seven blessings, concerning the creation of man, his becoming complete when he reunites with a woman he loves, the love and joy God intended for them, and the joy they bring the Nation of Israel.
This is not a private wedding. This is an event on a national scale, and the rejoicing and euphoria is in essence a microcosm of the reuniting of God and His People.
